The highly anticipated rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk takes place on Saturday at the O2 Arena. Both men are currently holding multiple world championship titles.
It’s significant because these two fighters are regarded as the best heavyweights in the game. Since Wladimir Klitschko’s reign as the dominant force in the sport ended in 2015, these two have become the best.
The rematch takes place following Usyk’s victory over Fury in May 2024, which was decided by a split decision. It was mainly due to the Ukrainian’s overhand left that led to a knockdown and a flurry.
Usyk used to be regarded as the Undisputed Champion in the Cruiserweight and Heavyweight divisions. Due to his desire to fight for the rematch against Fury, he vacated his IBF title.
Both men respect one another, but they know that if they lose, they can’t go back.
Both men are approaching the age of 40. Their rematch is regarded as the most compelling title fight in the heavyweight division since Evander Holyfield faced off against Lennox Lewis in 1999.
