Two-time world champion Anthony Joshua returns to the ring after a year-plus absence tonight – but the modern great has a fight that nobody saw coming.
The London 2012 hero is in Miami to meet Jake Paul, in a David-versus-Goliath clash that has caught the attention of those both inside and outside the sport.
The full fight card leading to Jake Paul facing Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight bout on Friday is now set with the bout order, start times and where to watch finally revealed.
Of course, Paul clashes with Joshua in the main event, which airs live on Netflix along with the rest of the main card on Friday from the Kaseya Center in Miami. A YouTuber turned boxer, Paul is definitely facing the toughest test of his career as he moves to heavyweight to take on one of the top fighters in the division.
Joshua, who is also an Olympic gold medalist in boxing, has faced nothing but elite competition during his career while holding notable wins over Wladimir Klitschko, Dillian Whyte, Joseph Parker and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
The Paul vs. Joshua walkout time is set for around 10:30 p.m. ET.
The main card starts on Friday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT with the card airing on Netflix at no additional cost to subscribers.
In the co-main event, Alycia Baumgardner defends her unified featherweight championship against Leila Beaudoin. Overall, Baumgardner is 16-1 as a pro and she also competed on the Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 card, which also aired on Netflix.
A pair of former UFC champions also meet on the card as Anderson Silva takes on Tyron Woodley in a six-round cruiserweight fight at 195 pounds. Both fighters have faced and fallen in past matchups against Paul but now Silva faces Woodley in a battle between two novice boxers both looking for an impressive win.
The final bout on the four-fight main card is a super featherweight matchup between Jahmal Harvey and Kevin Cervantes.
As for the prelims, that card is scheduled to kick off on Friday at 4:45 p.m. ET/1:45 p.m. PT on YouTube.
