England – Premier League
Date: Wednesday, 4 December 2019
Kick-off at 20:15 UK/ 21:15 CET
Venue: Anfield (Liverpool).
Liverpool will be looking to pile misery on rivals Everton when the pair face off on Wednesday.
The Toffees are currently languishing in 17th in the Premier League and were handed an agonising defeat against Leicester City on Sunday despite having taken the lead.
As a result, Marco Silva’s position as manager is in doubt and a heavy defeat against bitter rivals Liverpool could spell the end. And Liverpool are in a good position to deal that defeat, currently sitting eight points clear at the top of the table.
The Reds have dropped just two points from their 14 games so far this season and have won their past five matches.
PREDICTIONS
This means they have created an eight-point gap at the top to second-placed Leicester City, with title favourites Manchester City a further point behind.
Boss Marco Silva is on the brink at Everton – they sit just two places above the relegation zone with just 14 points from their opening 13 league games.
What is even more concerning for the Toffees is that of their five games coming up, three are against sides in the top four with the other two against both Manchester United and Arsenal. They’d probably take a goalless draw here.
BETTING TIPS
Everton double chance
Linked into the previous tip, this game is very unlikely to involve goals – just one was scored across two games last season – while even the meeting prior to that, in April 2018, also finished scoreless – and this is likely to be a similar fare. Everton will sit very deep and hope to hit Liverpool on the break but goals will be at a premium and there is great value in this bet.
Under 1.5 goals
STATISTICS
The two played out a scoreless draw at Goodison Park back in March, while a bizarre last-gasp DivockOrigi goal won the tie for the hosts 1-0 at Anfield last season.
