Leicester vs Arsenal
England – Premier League
Date: Sunday, 28th April 2019
Kick-off at 12.00 UK/ 13.00 CET
Venue: King Power Stadium (Leicester).
Arsenal needs to win this tie if they want a decent shot at the Champions League next season. They lost their last two games, and are currently in the fifth position, just below Chelsea, who occupies the last entry into Europe’s premier competition as of now.
The Gunners need to make up just a single point to make things level, and considering their nearest two competitors – Manchester United and Chelsea are taking on each other, there won’t be a better opportunity to bring things under control.
It is awkward to say, but of the two teams, Leicester has lifted the Premier League crown the last. The King Power Stadium has witnessed some truly great games, and fans hope Leicester can close out their season in style.
Leicester vs Arsenal Prediction
Arsenal wasted two good opportunities to lock in their Champions League qualification, as their closest two rivals – Chelsea and Manchester United, both were winless in their last two ties. But the Gunners failed to post a single point in the last two match-days as well. They have been afforded a third, and probably final chance to make it happen.
Chelsea is taking on the Devils, and the Gunners will not get another opportunity like this. They have to make it count. The setting is in place for them to go after their objective though.
The Gunners recorded 13 of the last 14 h2h wins, and three of the last four wins at this venue. Moreover, Arsenal is one of the powerhouses of English Football, while Leicester is a pretty ordinary team (provided we disregard their unexpected title two years back).
Also consider that Unai Emery’s men won ten of their last fifteen games, while Leicester was winless in ten of their last fifteen. Expect the Gunners to post three points on the board this weekend.
But do keep in mind that Leicester is at home and that Arsenal has a tendency to concede in most of their ties. Moreover, 10 of the last 12 h2h games and five of the last six at this venue had goals from both teams.
Finally, Arsenal conceded in 12 of their last 15 away ties. Expect goals to come from either direction this weekend at the King Power Stadium.
