On August 20, Anthony Joshua will have another meeting with destiny in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua (24-2) will face another immediate return against the talented Oleksandr Usyk more than two and a half years after defeating Andy Ruiz Jr. in the Middle East to avenge his first loss in his professional career.
Usyk defeated Joshua in a unanimous decision fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September of last year to seize the IBF, WBA, and WBO cruiserweight titles.
Although it is difficult to look beyond the significance of the 32-year-career-defining old’s performance, the heavyweight division’s leadership is always changing as a number of contenders vie for the position.
It doesn’t matter if Joshua becomes the sixth person in history to hold the title for a third time; he has a lot of potentially fascinating bouts coming up.
